Makeup can make you feel more attractive and confident, but even on all-natural days, you may have one step you donтАЩt skip. For many women, that indispensable attention grabber is creating the perfect lash. Do you know the best lash care tips and makeup application techniques to give you camera-ready lashes? These suggestions can take your eyes from bare to beautiful in a matter of minutes.

Get in Condition

Just like the hair on your head, your lashes can get dry and brittle because of product use, age, or environment. You can condition your eyelashes to undo the damage of makeup and styling. For softer, healthier lashes, you can use a petroleum jelly or olive oil a few times a week. You can also apply a quality lash conditioner to keep your lashes happy. Be sure to remove your makeup every night, but be gentle and do not rub your eyes, which can weaken or break your eyelashes.

Go for the Curl

You should have the proper tools in your tool box, and that includes a well-made eyelash curler to shape your straight lashes. Eyelash curlers are easy to use, and if you use a gentle touch, you can curl your lashes without damaging them. Start with your curler close to the lash line and lightly clamp and hold still for a few seconds. Release and move the curler a little further away from the lash line and repeat, clamping and holding still. Whatever you do, donтАЩt pull on your curler while using it because you could weaken your lashes. Some women use a hair dryer to heat their eyelash curler, but if you decide to go that route, test it with your fingertip first to make sure it isnтАЩt too hot for your eyelids.

All About That Base

Do you use a primer under your foundation for a smooth surface? You can do the same thing with your eyelashes! Eyelash primer is especially beneficial for thin, wispy lashes to thicken them and help the mascara evenly coat each lash.

DonтАЩt Forget Your Coat

After lash care, curling, and priming, itтАЩs time for you to apply mascara. You can put your mascara tube into hot water to make it easier to use and reduce clumping. Pull the wand out of the tube and blot any excess product. You should avoid pumping the wand in the tube; pumping only introduces more air and dries out the mascara. Start at the base of your lashes and coat them by wiggling your wand back and forth. This wiggle motion helps coat each individual strand and maintain the curl. If you coat from base to tip with a straight motion, you are more likely to make your lashes straight.

Babe Lash Volumizing Mascara

Apply your mascara on the top and bottoms of your top lashes, and then move on to your bottom set of lashes. While the mascara dries, donтАЩt blink! If you do get mascara on your lid or under your eyes, you can remove it carefully with a cotton swab after it dries so you wonтАЩt smear it. Use an eyelash brush or comb to separate your lashes after you put on your mascara. This step can remove clumps and gives you that defined, feathered look instead of the dreaded frightened spider lashes. You can also bend your wand at an angle to make it easier to apply your mascara on those hard-to-reach lashes on the bottom or in the corners.

Dressing in Layers

Mascaras are available in different formulas to provide benefits, such as volumizing, waterproof, non-clumping sensitive formula, and more. What you may not realize is that you can layer your mascaras to give you fabulous eyes that last all day. Try a thickening formula as a first coat with a waterproof on top so that you have lush lashes that wonтАЩt run or smudge and are easier to clean before you go to bed.
